- 4-H is one of the most well known youth development organizations in the country.
- With over a century of history and experience, today’s 4-H program is a youth organization committed to building outstanding citizen leaders with marketable skills that will succeed in today's global society.
Through its many hands-on projects 4-H offers limitless opportunities that engage the imagination of youth. Photography, cultural heritage, animal science, and robotics are only a few of the project choices available to 4-H youth. There’s something for every child whether he or she lives in a rural, suburban or urban community. Opportunities available to 4-H members enable youth to:
Master skills to make career and life choices.
Connect to communities and learn to give back to others.
Mature in self-discipline and responsibility.
Learn to better understand themselves.
Become independent thinkers.
Develop lifelong friendships and long-term relationships with caring adults.
However, volunteer leaders are the keys to our success in the North Carolina 4-H program. If you are interested in making a difference in the life of a young person and becoming a club leader, or just have a few hours to invest, we’ve got challenging and fun jobs for adults and teens.
